Part 1: Module 2 - The Systematic Review Lifecycle
This module introduces trainees to the fundamental principles and practices of evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) and knowledge translation in health and policy contexts. It explores the concepts of evidence and evidence hierarchies, highlighting their role in supporting effective decision-making and policy development. The module also examines knowledge translation strategies and the development of policy briefs as tools for communicating research evidence to stakeholders. Trainees will gain an understanding of the differences between traditional and systematic reviews, the various types of systematic reviews, and the key methodological steps involved in conducting them. In addition, the module equips trainees with the knowledge to identify the resources, tools, and skills required to plan and undertake high-quality systematic reviews.
